标题: attempt正误用法归纳
■犯人企图逃走, 但失败了。

误：The prisoner attempted for an escape but failed.

正：The prisoner attempted an escape but failed.

正：The prisoner attempted to escape but failed.

正：The prisoner attempted escaping but failed.

析：attempt(尝试)是及物动词，其后可直接接名词作宾语, 无需介介词。另外，其后接动词时，可用不定式或动名词。

■他们攀登顶峰的所有尝试都失败了。

误：All their attempts about reaching the summit failed.

正：All their attempts at reaching the summit failed.

析：attempt(尝试)用作名词时，要表示做某事的尝试，其后通常是接不定式或介词 at。如：She failed in her attempt tofinish it in time.(她未能及时把它完成)。

■他试图要获头奖。

误：He made attempt at winning the first prize.

正：He made an attempt at winning the first prize.

析：名词 attempt(尝试)在现代英语是通常是可数的。
