析：attempt(尝试)是及物动词，其后可直接接名词作宾语, 无需介 介词。另外，其后接动词时，可用不定式或动名词。

误：All their attempts about reaching the summit failed.

正：All their attempts at reaching the summit failed.

析：attempt(尝试)用作名词时，要表示做某事的尝试，其后通常 是接不定式或介词 at。如：She failed in her attempt tofinish it in time.(她未能及时把它完成)。
