　文化导航　　英美等国的商店既有规模大、装饰豪华的连锁店(chain shop)，也有许多超级市场(supermarket)，规模适中的杂货店(grocery)，小型的夫妻店。此外还有经营出售减价商品的折扣店或出售二手货的旧(second-hand shop)。英美人一般每周工作五天，商店则营业六天或五天半，星期日一般不营业。人们常在周末上街购物，开车买足一周生活所需的日用品和食品，星期日则在家料理家务或探亲访友。不过，唐人街(China Town)的商店例外，一周可营业七天。
